Can I sponsor my family?

Yes, if you hold a valid UAE residence visa and earn at least AED 4,000 a month — or AED 3,000 if your employer also gives you accommodation. Your job title no longer matters.

Who you can sponsor

The steps

  1. Apply for an entry permit for each family member (ICP, or GDRFA in Dubai, or an Amer/typing centre).
  2. After they arrive, you have 60 days to apply for their residence visas.
  3. Family members aged 18 and over do a medical fitness test.
  4. Do Emirates ID biometrics and receive the visas and IDs.

Usually you will be asked for attested marriage and birth certificates, your salary certificate or contract, and your tenancy contract (Ejari) — check the exact list when you apply.

After that

Every family member now has a visa, Emirates ID, passport and health insurance with their own dates. Keep them together so you renew everything on time.
